2002 Motorhomes

I witnessed the wedding of my parents!

It all began on June 11, 1955, when Maurice and Annette said: "I Do". They settled in the mountains Laurentian, in a small town called Lac Carre, about 80 kilometers from Montreal.

It really started from scratch. Owning a piece of land, purchased a truck, then a tractor, then another and so on. The business grew more than 20 employees. They did everything from roads, artificial lakes, landscaping, excavation, and gravel pits. They added value to everything you touched. They became the largest excavation contractor north of Montreal. And with pride! Were known everywhere.

They gave life and hope to three kids.Denis, Lise and me. What an exciting time it was. There was a lake 20 meters from the house we were brought in. Mauritius made the lake with one of his tractor during free time. Even adding an island that was connected by a wooden bridge. At sunset, you could see the trout jumping Moskita. What a place. It was a land of fantasy.

Years passed and the business became more and more success, until a change of plans was carried out. I decided to leave the house in Los Angeles, California. It was time to be alone. I stayed there a few years ago, and decided to move to Miami Florida.

A few years later, Maurice and Annette decided to sell the compnay and moved to a clean city called Hollywood, Florida. They worked hard and bought a house. Then the worst happened, they had a change of vision, divorce followed in 1989. Mom returned to Canada, while dad bought a property in Groveland, Florida. Each had their own lives for a few years until he released his arrow Cupid both of them while dad was visiting my brother and sister in Canada.

Mom came in Groveland couple of times to visit. Then one day, on Easter morning, the phone rang. Dad was in the hospital with a diagnosis of some cancers. I went to Groveland and met my mother. Dad visited many times in the hospital.

On a visit in April 2002 the hospital, Dad asked my mother to marry him, and asked me to go with her to get a wedding ring. We did, just before lunch! That same afternoon a notary public of the State of Florida declared them husband and wife. I signed the marriage certificate as a witness. We were all crying.

He was later transferred to a hospital in Montreal fine of two months. Great force is needed to Mom. When he was released, decided to buy a small trailer and went town to town to attend music festivals, and enjoy every moment we spent together.

Then the hospital "cycle" began again. Inside and outside, inside and out. On the other hand for three months. I flew in to say goodbye, and flew back home in Florida. At 5 am on November 30, 2006, my sister called from the hospital. He had left his final journey.

I talked to my mom today, she is doing well. Still I have the image in my mind, if the witness in Wedding!
