Mat Jackson (born June 10, 1981 in Henley-in-Arden) is an English racing driver.
Jackson and family-ran team contested the British Touring Car Championship in 2007 and 2008, in each case with BMW's Andy Priaulx used to win the year before World Touring Car Championship. Under the banner MSport Jackson Jackson in 2007, and as a distributor of BMW Team UK in 2008. This support was a network of BMW dealers instead of BMW themselves, so the team was ranked even as a independendant.
Jackson had already won the SEAT Cupra Championship 2006. He has also made an appearance on the BBC's Top Gear, racing a motor home.
Early Racing Career

Jackson was driving his family BMW 320si at the Snetterton round of the 2007 British Touring Car Championship season.
He started running in karts as a teenager, before finishing 4th in the Renault Cup Clio 2000, his first attempt to compete with tin-top. In 2001 he moved to the production class of the British Touring Car Championship with Team Ford Focus GR finishing 4th in his class. He struggled for funding in subsequent years, and was something of a forgotten man when he entered the SEAT Cupra Championship in 2005 with a team family management. The fastest was a revelation though, finishing as runner-up in the series, with a large number of victories-8, and a count of 8 poles and 8 laps. After being examined by SEAT for BTCC drive, stayed in Cupra for 2006, taking the lead in the championship after a double victory in the first race. A chain of 9 wins in the first 12 races of the championship favorite made him strong, and went on to win the title.
2007
Jackson was a pioneer in the 2007 BTCC season, many podiums before getting their first win at Oulton Park in race three. Thruxton did not go well for him, a crash and an engine failure left him with no points. Return to your home Donington saw him start 4th and briefly lead the race one, before disappearing in order to humid conditions unsuited to its rear-drive BMW. At the second session at Brands Hatch was a wild overtaking at the first corner and spun, triggering a 11-Car Pile-up, leaving two riders in the hospital. In rounds Thruxton final, Jackson showed pace and won the last race of the series. While everyone focused on v Fabrizio Giovanardi title battle Jason Plato Jackson sneaked into Tom Coronel at the start of the third race and everyone was captivated by the rhythm and excellent defensive driving. He managed to keep Team RAC Colin Turkington driver behind him, and have achieved an advantage and win his second BTCC race of the season.
2008
In the first round at Brands Hatch, Jackson started on pole position and led for more than 3 / 4 of the race until the rain began to fall, losing grip on his BMW. It ranked Giovanardi VX Racing shortly before the end and had to settle for second place. In the second race, struggled for a good fourth place in the third race and worked his way through the field to second place behind the team of Turkington RAC BMW 320si.
In Rockingham, Jackson began the weekend with a 10th on the grid but managed disappointing his way into 6th place. The second race was undoubtedly the best of his BTCC career so far, with a bright start which quickly took the lead after errors by Darren Turner SEAT driver Giovanardi, and recorded his third victory of his career to date. In the third race, which was delayed by rain, Jackson managed to open way to second place behind Turkington, despite his BMW 320si RWD slipping in the conditions. All went well, following closely with Jackson Turkington, until a passing the outside ambitious result in him being pushed out wide and in the gravel trap. Jackson recorded a DNF and lost his chance to take the lead in the championship.
After a good performance in the first two meetings of the season, Jackson followed with a successful game in round 7, 8 and 9 at Donington Park. After qualify 14th on the grid for the first race, Jackson drove through the field brilliantly, making rapidly to be an incredible 5th place. Its speed and may finish in the top 5 was ruined when, as when Dynamic Tom Chilton Team driver challenged him for the position, driving his Civic Type Chilton A line on the back of ...
