Fiat Ducato Motorhome

My garage wants to repair my 5000 lbs gearbox.Can this be true?

It is true that a chassis.1992.It fiat.Motorhome still seems very excessive.Do Ducato have to take apart the whole engine or something? They say the box is not damaged and the problem is internal.Fiat Ducato is not unusual and I think it should a used or reconditioned obtained.Where could be a however? junkyards? I have little time to tour all year.

5000 seems a bit much, but then its difficult guess not knowing the exact problems with the box. For example, if there was a massive failure due to overloading and broke an axle, and in doing so solved the case, then yes, I suppose it could be a lot of money. On the other hand, replacing a pair of synchronization is a relatively minor work that should cost no much less. The high price may be trying to cover the store, if there is a lot of work that is not seen at this time. Take it to a dealer for a second date.
