How to minimize risk through market research
Many people have become rich, very rich, initiate and develop a new business. A good number have become household names: Kellogg, Ford and Gates, to name a few. However, new companies began their safely. Almost everything in life involves risk, not least of which is entrepreneurship.
Are you thinking of becoming an entrepreneur and start an online business? You should also expect to address the risks. But the rewards can definitely be worthwhile. To increase your chances of success, must work hard to minimize risk and maximize potential benefits. No doubt that's what Kellogg, Ford, Gates, Jobs and Dell did to improve their chances of success.
You should also minimize their risks in the spirit business, to make them calculated risks. This means that you must study and analyze their risks, as a general would consider an enemy. Think about your risks as enemies and then go after them, cutting them up to a non-threatening size.
One way to minimize your risk is to do market research. Is there a market for product or service? How can you tell? Well, with a happy ending, the Internet is an ideal environment for market analysis. Therefore, here are three ways to Internet market research.
1. SELL ON EBAY FOR MARKET RESEARCH
If the product is suitable for the type of eBay marketing can try the auction or the sale of there before trying to sell in another setting such as a website. And most of the products or services have a market on eBay. This includes cars, Mobile homes and real estate, to name a few things that may not come to mind immediately.
An advantage of eBay is the gigantic amount of traffic can get. Moreover, Internet mirrors eBay market. What people in search of eBay is very close to what they seek in the broader Internet. Thus, market analysis on eBay does not apply, at least vaguely, to other markets on the Internet. Also, while developing their skills on eBay, also burnished them elsewhere on the Internet.
Let me put the eBay phenomenon of trafficking in a little clearer perspective. eBay has recently passed Google as the search engine with the largest volume of searches. Yes, eBay, unofficially, a search engine. Most people do keyword searches on eBay than Google or other dedicated search engine like MSN or Yahoo!. And there is another positive factor to consider. People search on eBay with an open wallet. Much of the Internet is a virtual place to search for information, while eBay is a place designed and used specifically for the purchase and sale. Now, one negative aspect of eBay fees. You must pay eBay to do business in their market. I think you'll agree that this falls within the realm of justice. But does not take a cut of their profits. The result is that in calculating their profits and try to apply them to another market on the Internet, you can deduct paying eBay fees. You do not have to pay on your own website, for example.
2. USE GOOGLE AS A TOOL FOR MARKET RESEARCH
As the largest and most popular dedicated search engine, Google stands out as a research tool market. If there is a market for a product, Google knows nothing. Just search for keywords related to your product or service and see who else is exploiting this market. If no one or only a few people are selling in the market for keywords, there are two possibilities. Or, you have a niche that is ripe for you to explode, or that others have tested the market and considered that is not profitable.
Up to you to determine through some more tests, or skip that particular market to find another underlying market terms search. Usually it requires the use of search terms that have fewer words and are therefore conceptually larger. Mostly but not always, found vendors in the markets represented by the broader search terms (less words) that the markets represented by search terms more closely. For example, the market behind the search term "dog grooming supplies" is narrower the market that underlies the search term "dog grooming" or "dogs."
Here's something to remember. Competition is not all bad. It may indicate a market. And with your brain and entrepreneurial talent, is likely to take their place for profit between them. Just develop a sale only proposal that will make you stand out from the crowd and attract customers. Think of it this way. Where would you put your food booth at a county fair competition with other food sellers, but with hordes of people or in a competition and dead people right? I think you get the point that applies to both Internet as brick and mortar world.
Where there is competition, there is a market. Google can help you discover that market. It will not provide all the data needed, but it give a great start.
3. ADWORDS HOW TO USE MARKET RESEARCH TOOL
This tool is a bit more complex than the previous two. Therefore, I will not be able to deal in detail in this brief report. You will need to be in its own report.
In summary, here is one way you can use Adwords marketing tool. Create a free product associated with the main product. Maybe it's a report that explains the features and benefits of your product. Advertising in Adwords and see what kind of response you get. "People are so interested in requesting a free product? If not drop this market.
But do not stop there. Change the keywords that your ad appears and try again. Keep this until you find out what keywords work best. If none of them gave no hope, to test that market and elsewhere.
CONCLUSION
The risk is inevitable in entrepreneurship. But you can minimize, make in calculated risk manageable, making online market research. I have introduced you to three ways to do research online market: selling on eBay first, use Google as a tool for market research and the use of Adwords as a tool for market research.
