You may recall in mid-2007 the new 7 wonders of the world were heralded as a modern equivalent to the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. The winners, of course, so you do not need to Google,

1. Chichen Itza, Mexico
2. Christ Redeemer, Brazil
3. Colosseum, Italy
4. Great Wall of China
5. Machu Picchu, Peru
6. Petra, Jordan
7. Taj Mahal, India

Now the same company have launched a similar campaign to find the New7Wonders of Nature. Voting opened on January 1 of a list of 261 nominees.

In Europe, the Irish Cliffs of Moher, the Matterhorn in the Alps Swizz 'peak of the mountain and the volcano Vesuvius in Italy have been nominated.

Falls Falls in Canada and the Grand Canyon in the U.S. are also listed.

21 Finalists will be announced on 21 July 09 and put to the vote popular. Come on Australia! Sydney Opera House just missed out in the New 7 Wonders of the World (which is one of 14 finalists officers), so perhaps the Reef or Uluru can do at this time. Make your vote on this !
