6 Tips to refresh a Campervan
what can be done to make it your own.
As the owner of a trailer the first time, I brought a Renault Traffic Romance, that was more than 20 years, the engine was sound, the body work and viscous moisture inside, it was all I could afford. Without But when I sold it a year later, the buyer said it was nice to see a van of this age that smelt so fresh.
1) Sort leakage body work. In my truck, I was dismayed to find mold growing behind the table where it was stored, it had been washed when I saw the truck, but returned quickly. The main cause was found in a small rust hole in the roof allowing a gradual trickle. The metal is reduced beyond the rust and the use of a mesh underneath I built back up and painted it.
2) Check the seals of the windows and ceiling light. You can usually reseal light the roof with sealant, but if the seals of the window are lost you may need to consider replacing them.
3) The obvious tip - wash everything you can in the washer. Take down the curtains and put in the washer. Likewise for any cushion covers. Make sure these are completely dry before returning to the van.
4) Clean with steam. I have a cheap steam cleaner I brought many years ago, but you can hire one. As well as cleaning of carpets and furniture fixed you can also clean the kitchen after decades of dirt and are ideal to kill mold and dirt from the corners in motion. I even used on the linoleum floor instead of scrubbing.
5) Empty and clean all storage tanks.
6) Crush rosemary and lavender with a mortar and placed in a jar. Pierce some holes at the top. Shake a bit of content to carpets before vacuuming.
