RV Travel: Staying healthy on the road

It is no secret among experienced RV travelers: self-sufficiency save money. The more independent which are of tourist parks, power connections and call all those other needs, most of your budget will stretch. And the greater their freedom.

In fact RV nomads found serious challenge in life comfortably in remote campsites, and the replenishment of the road. But we can be very successful in this search, there is a universal factor that can destroy our plans and to deny all our skills in a blow: poor health. In just a day or two, years of experience could be almost wiped out.

There is no doubt that to be truly independent, good health should be our first priority. Without it, everything else in vain.

Click OK. So what's the good news?

Well, the best thing about health is that it is quite a program of "do it yourself. "You have within yourself, a considerable power to make a significant impact. Believe it or not, for most of us, that means they require little or no help from the pharmaceutical and medical fraternities!

Of course, any program of comprehensive health DIY has a set of interdependent activities, but on the way there are three key elements that RV travelers to consider:

1. Protection (against the threat of physical and biological)
2. Exercise
3. Diet

PROTECTION

Even the healthiest people in the world have a fundamental need to protect themselves. After all, countless ordinary risks have the potential to get "out of action", and mobile lifestyles outdoors certainly present such threats.

For example, motor risks we face in various ways. There is the ever present risk of mechanical failure - such as brakes or direction - that could result in personal injury. Even seemingly minor problems like a leaky exhaust system can become a threat in certain circumstances.

The solution is based largely on the maintenance of vehicle, caravan, motorhome or whatever in the best condition possible. Regular maintenance, along with daily inspections, nearly ensures that no mechanical problems arise unexpectedly.

Driving conditions are another risk. The heavy traffic, narrow mountain roads, high wind and present a series of complicated situations. Once again, the risk can be minimized by simple care.

Slow down, fasten your seat belts security and be alert and you can be sure that, apart from an occasional adrenaline surge, everything will be fine.

The other area where we can protect is needed to combat a variety of possible biological attacks. impure water, for example, can very quickly ruin your day - maybe a whole week! If in doubt, boil drinking and cooking water vigorously for at least three minutes.

Contaminated or spoiled food can have a similar effect, hygiene and cooling so strict care are even more critical than back home in the suburbs. It is also necessary to be extremely careful when disposing of waste from kitchen and bathroom. Here in Australia, our reputation for the hordes of flies easier it is indicative of a more serious potential threat to our health.

Other insects also can be a problem. Mosquitoes, spiders, wasps, ants and scorpions are just some of the unpleasant common throughout the country, so travelers should be prepared according to research, repellents and appropriate clothing.

In essence, protection is reduced down to this: BE CAREFUL. Do not take risks, and apply a generous portion of common sense.

EXERCISE

Even when traveling, it's a good idea to keep a reasonable exercise program. But there's a catch: To avoid costly courts or gyms, or extra weight of exercise equipment, the range of appropriate activities while living on the road is very limited.

Fortunately, all the best exercise is walking. It's free, requires only sturdy, comfortable shoes, and can be enjoyed anywhere.

Still, the real benefits foot are the gradual, but steady and significant effects on their health. Helps lower blood pressure, reduces body weight and the heart is developing efficient and function lung. All of which are free!

Not only that, you can build a walking program slowly over several months, for example, a 15-minute walk to a brisk 45 minutes. Make that four or five times a week and soon will I get from all the exercise you need. Soon you will feel very good, look good and sleep better. And you'll have fun doing it.

DIET

For optimal health on the road we must take a holistic view diet. In my definition, then, the diet is the sum total of everything that enters the body - usually through the mouth.

The greatest favor we can do for ourselves is to take control of this process every day. Even years of abuse can be reversed if you make a firm commitment to improving the selection and quantity food, beverages and other substances.

Worst of all is the intake of cigarette smoke. Maybe not always possible to avoid smoke from other people is due, but if is that by smoking, it certainly can take over. To your health, your finances, and travel independently if you smoke, make a determined effort to stop.

Another common substance is alcohol. Although not in the same danger zone nicotine, your body will benefit greatly by limiting the intake of alcoholic beverages.

But do not misunderstand me. A glass or two of beer or wine, very nice, and limited amount of alcohol is now believed to be beneficial to help us to relax. Are those long, heavy drinking sessions, often repeated for many years that eventually takes its toll.

So it is prudent to try to limit alcohol intake by, First, the replacement of a glass of water for every alcoholic beverage, second or third, and second, making a few days a week completely free of alcohol. Your body will soon get rid of the toxins build up, allowing vital organs to resume their work.

With regard to food intake, as far as possible create your meals around fresh fruits and vegetables. When these are unavailable, canned or dried equivalent substitutes provide nutrition. Other foods high value are the breads - particularly comprehensive - cereals, pasta and rice.

At the same time, try to limit your intake of salt, sugar, oils and fats, desserts and sweets cakes, butter, fast food, and dairy products rich in fat. Even the eggs and fatty meats should be eaten in moderation. Not only improves health, also stand to save a bundle.

Finally, if you are more than 10 percent overweight, gradually cut back purchases.

Sounds easy Right? But you know as well as I that nothing worthwhile is ever easy. At first, like any change in lifestyle, effort and discipline are necessary.

However, the news is very good, more freedom and independence will definitely make it worthwhile.
