Motorhome Gas Mileage

How I can get better gas mileage in a 1977 class a motorhome?

I know this sounds like an oxymoron, but I'm serious. I figured 5 miles to the gallon, will cost about $ 600 just to go 4 southern states. Are there any modern invention that will join the mpg? Any advice will help, thanks. By the way, I'm not mechanic, so can not be changing the whole engine.

sell it and use hotels. Honestly, there is no way you will improve in this regard. What do you want to get to mpg?
